Our Tudor Bays are authentic English Tudor reproductions. If you do not find the bay you require then call or email and we will discuss creating a new custom bay. Although the links below represent cast stone elements, any of these can be fabricated in limestone as well.

Hampton Bay System

Classic one or two-storey bay system using the Hampton window surround profile. The bay system has an optional set of panels that may be used between the two sets of windows. Another classic way to handle the transition is to use staggered quoins at the corners with brick or stone infill. The bay system can be configured to have 2 windows across the front plane (versus 3 lights as shown). The window surround (Hampton profile) coping's depth is 4" and width is 7.1" (at sill). The window surrounds are configurable as stated in the window surround definition (height, width). The corner angle of 135 degress is fixed, however. Constraints: corner angle of 135 degress, window surround depth of 4".

About Tudor Bays : Architectural stone elements denote Tudor architecture (and English architecture). Some of the most prominent of these stone elements for the exterior of a home are bay structures. These stone structures can be quite involved and difficult to build. However, once done, they are marvelous structures to behold and can dominate a house elevation. The typical bay has many forms or configurations - they can be single story or two story, they can have a parapeted roof or a hip roof above, they can have brick or stone infilling between the upper and lower storey, they can be rectangular or even semi-circular (in plan view), etc. A large two-storey bay with crenellation can add a "tower" effect to an elevation and can add a powerful castle-like element to a Tudor structure. If the bay base does not touch the ground/foundation, but "projects out" from the wall structure with a corbel or bracket structure "holding it up" then the window is typically called an "oriel" window (versus a bay). These oriel structures can be even more challenging to build correctly but are decidedly Tudor. Tudor architecture elevations utilize many implements to provide for projections from the wall face which create wonderful room spaces within. Bays provide for interior alcoves that can accommodate cozy window seats or nice light-filled retreats.
